A little about myself...

I come from a multi-ethnic family where I am the youngest of three. I grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland and attended public school for my K-12 career. I have been teaching the fourth grade for all 6 years of my teaching experience. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I am currently attending Walden University where I am working on my Masters in Education, with a focus on integrating technology into the classroom. I live in Montgomery County with my wonderful husband.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a young age and enjoy what I do. I enjoy traveling and learning from my experiences. I've traveled to Guatemala two times, where I worked at a children's home. I've also done charity work in West Virginia and California with my church's middle school youth group. I just recently visited Costa Rica. For those of you who have been, "pura vida." I learn from children just as much as they learn from me. I hold very high expectations for my students, and truly believe that every child has the ability to learn and succeed. I try to set a good example for my students. I want to be a lifelong learner, who loves life. I hope to impart my life's philosophy to my students through my teaching style.
